Hawkin's Birthday
Yesterday was Hawk's birthday. We didn't do a lot since it was Sunday. Hawk took donut holes to nursery to share with his friends. He was very cute about it. He had on a nice suit and tie, but refused to wear his church shoes. Hey, you get away with a lot when it's your birthday. So, he rocked his speed racer crocks with the suit. Not many people can pull off this look, but when your name is Hawk it's okay to be a little different. Later that evening we went to my parents for a yummy dinner and cake. The slide show also has pics from Saturday when grandma Verne and grandpa Tony came over with birthday presents and hugs

Peter Potty
Hawkins is going to be 3 on Sunday and is still not potty trained. It is making me crazy! When Hawk was going to daycare this summer he was using the urinal. I had heard you could get a potty training urinal, so I looked into it. My mom decided to get this for Hawk for his birthday. It's pretty cool! It even flushes! He doesn't use it all the time, but a couple times a day is better than nothing. We won't even talk about BM's. That is going to be totally different story.
You would think I'm potty training an army the way my bathroom looks.

A Ten Year Tradition

Well, this would have been my 10th year walking at The Women's Fitness Celebration Walk, but we didn't walk due to lightening and heavy rain. No way I was going to take Scotlyn in that mess. I did promise pictures though. This one was taken at Elmers Pancake House. Yes, we celebrated our fitness by feeding our faces (along with about 30 other walkers who didn't want to brave the nasty weather. I'm kinda bummed we didn't walk, but grateful that I still had an opportunity to spend some time with my mom and sister. Oh, and Scotlyn of course. The really sad thing is I probably won't be able to do the walk again for a while since we won't be living here. I don't even want to think about it.

This is a picture of the first year I did the Women's Fitness Celebration Walk. My mom, sister, and I have done it every year since. My sister missed one year when she was pregnant with her daughter. We always have a great time! Boy, we all look so young in this picture.

Jumparoo
Here are a few pictures of Scotlyn enjoying her Jumparoo. She likes it for only short periods of time. She needs to maintain her girly shape. I mean, just look at those dimples! The ones in her arm not her cheeks. I love it! I just want to squeeze her all over. This is the one time in a girls life where people appreciate your rolls. It would be nice if it was like that for all of us all the time!

What a day...
I need to say first off that my day does not compare at all to Laverne's bad day. The day started off normal enough. I enjoyed a game of Candyland with Hawkins and a nice lunch. After lunch it was nap time. I needed to change Hawk's pull-up because I hadn't changed it since he had gotten up this morning and it was soaked. Well, he was not havin' it. I finally tore the diaper off him while he kicked and screamed, but he wasn't interested in putting a dry diaper on. So, I held his blanket hostage until he would put the pull-up on. He cried and pushed me all the time saying he wanted his blanket. I told him if he put the pull-up on or went and sat on the potty and put big boy underwear on he could have his blanket. He refused! THIS WENT ON FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF! Neither of us willing to back down. Obviously he got his stubborn ways from his mother. The need to be in control comes from his dad (sorry honey)!
Here we are enjoying lunch. The calm before the storm!

Scottie needed more pics
Scott wanted more pictures. Most of these are of Scotlyn. I threw one in of Hawkins as a baby just to see if you think he and his sister look alike. There is also a rare picture of Hawk sleeping. I know Scott will love these, but I hope the rest of you enjoy them as well.

See A Penny, Pick It Up...
All day long it will be in your stomach cuz you swallowed it!!! Yep, Hawkins swallowed a penny last night. He choked for a minute, threw up, and then went right back to playing. It must be noted that even though he threw up (after a night at a Chucky Cheese birthday party, not pretty) he still managed to swallow the penny. I called his pediatrician this morning to see if there was anything I needed to do. They said just to make sure he is not coughing or complaining of pain, and make sure it "returns" in the next 7 days. I am officially on penny poop patrol! Hawkins had the nastiest... well I won't go into details! I guess I'll have to get him a wallet for his birthday to keep his money in from now on.Friday, September 5, 2008

Happy Birthday Jenn
Today is my sisters birthday. When I asked her how it felt to be 37 she had an unexpected answer. "It feels freakin great!" She then said that she will never take advantage of the fact that she is HERE to celebrate her birthday. As many of you know my sister has been battling breast cancer for the last two years. Well, actually she is now cancer free (with a great new set of knockers I might add), but she is still dealing with the side effects from chemo and still has more surgeries planned to finish up her reconstruction. I am very proud of my sister! My mom, sister, and I went to lunch today to celebrate her b-day. It was a lot of fun especially since I got a little time away from ALL the kids. You look great Jenn, and I am grateful that you are doing well! You can learn more about my sister by checking out her blog.

Go Speed Racer
The kids had a four day weekend this last week and by Sunday I thought I was going to lose my mind. Not to mention that getting myself and four kids to church by 9 a.m. and trying to make the most of sacrament is challenge in itself! I know I am going to be a stronger person after all this (and i'll need the strength to break free of my straight jacket). So, Sunday evening we went to my mom and dads to play with some remote control cars. The kids had a great time. Hope you enjoy the pics.
