Discovered!

In the recent weeks, Scotlyn has discovered a few new things...

She has discovered that she is now capable of opening every door in the house. Except for those that lead outside. They are either too heavy or slide! Her favorite door to open?
The pantry door of course!

She has discovered how the child proof latches work on the cupboards below the kitchen sink. Sure, I still struggle with them, but she's got them all figured out!

She has discovered that she is quite the little dancer. We'll have to get some video of that on here soon. It is impressive! She's giving Hawk a run for his money!

She has discovered that if she squeals in delight when her daddy walks through the door, that he gets just as excited.

And.... she has discovered that she is now tall enough to reach things off the dining room table. This was a hard lesson learned for Hawk who took a break from his fruity pebbles this morning to watch a little t.v.....
She barely spilled a drop as she brought the bowl down to her level
And she was very pleased with herself!
Nothing is safe anymore! Especially if it's edible!

Happy Birthday Big Nay Nay!

My Grandma is 99 years young today!
This picture is a few years old. That is actually Hawkins she is holding. I think she actually looks younger today then she did when this was taken. She lives are her own still and is very spunky. Not to mention her great eye for fashion! Hope you have a great birthday grandma. We wish we could be there to celebrate with you!

Well, it is happening...

MY BABY BOY IS GROWING UP!
HE NO LONGER SUCKS HIS TWO FINGERS! Scott and I just realized the other day that has been forever since we have seen him do this.
HE IS COMPLETELY POTTY TRAINED! I was hoping this would happen sooner!
HE IS DRESSING HIMSELF! I guess somewhere in the back of my mind I thought he would be headed to prom in a diaper, some outfit that I picked out, all the time his two fingers in his mouth!

It kinda just hits ya all at once! My baby is growing up! At least I still have my baby girl!

We are so excited...

for our trip, we are jumping up and down.
We can't wait to get to Boise! We will leave Sunday and stay the night with Heather, Jon, and Rowan. Then we will head up to St. George and spend Monday and Tuesday with my friend Julie. Then on up to SLC... We have so many friends there to visit with. We will be in Boise Thursday afternoon. Yay! Is it too early to start packing up the car?

My life changed forever...

10 years ago today when Ms. Claire Lorraine Cagle came into the world kicking and screaming and letting everyone know she is in charge... Not much has changed since then!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLAIRE! WE LOVE YOU!

A hiking we will go...

Saturday, we decided to go for a family hike up in the mountains. I have to say, I am so proud of Hawk and the baby. They were troopers! And Claire... well if you know Claire then enough said!
As many of you know we came across some hikers "getting their freak on" right on the trail! Ah nature! You gotta love it! Here are a few highlights from our hike.
Follow Hawk, he knows the way!
At this point, Scotlyn is getting a little sleepy!
Hawk walked the whole time, except for this moment here. He had just fallen down and of course wanted to be held. It's a good thing I've been working out!

Here's a pic of the lovely road we had to travel on to get to and from our hike! Somehow, Hawk managed to fall asleep within minutes of us heading down the mountain.
It was a great way to spend the day as a family!

One more thing I miss about Boise....

OUR PEDIATRICIAN!

I had to take Scotlyn in for her 1 year check up today. This was our first visit to the pediatrician here in Arizona. I like the doctor, he was very nice and made Scotlyn and I feel very comfortable. The nurses and office workers were okay, but here is the thing that really got to me... there wasn't a toy or a children's book in sight! That just seems crazy to me. Our doctor in Boise, Katherine Stevens, has toys everywhere! In the waiting room, and in every examining room. And her office has murals on all the walls for the kids to look at and enjoy. And don't even get me started on her staff... they are the best! I wish I could pack them all up and move them here!
If you are wondering about this picture of Scotlyn; I decided she looks like Beaker from the Muppets, so I dressed her up as such! She looks a lot like Hawk in this pic. She is such a good sport for letting me do that. Oh, and by the way, she only weighs 18lbs. She eats like a horse though. Must have her dad's metabolism!
